The screenshot has a date of March 2006 and I think I had developed the Struts 1 powered code for it only a few weeks before. Even for 2006 it was ugly, but design has never been my bag, and Oddjob had so many more interesting features to develop that I thought functionally it does the job, and moved on.
Fast forward five and half years, and it’s so clunky it’s embarrassing but where to begin. Functionally it still does the job, so how about just giving the old thing a paint job and seeing how it looks, and so after a couple of days of CSS it now looks like this:
And OK it wouldn’t win any prizes for design but I’m quite impressed with what CSS alone can achieve.
